The cast interviews will give you more information than I can here. The Purgatorians is an audio drama full of dramatic moments, twists and turns, cliffhanger endings, thriller and touches of horror. It is an ambitious, high budget, long running project that will span many years.

At the moment, the only AI in the show is the placeholder main title image. I will be replacing this before the show starts and no AI will ever be used in the show after this goes.

Definitely not. Any queries offering AI related services will be met with silence. The characters are voiced by real voice actors, the music and songs officially licensed will be through reputable companies, when the show gets original music added for podcast platforms, these will be by real composers. We do not want any AI to be used in this show.

The show right now, before original music is added, and without adding in licensing costs and subscription fees, costs us roughly £65,000 per season. This is one of the biggest budget audio dramas you will find that doesn’t have a large production company behind it.

The show is funded solely by me. I get roughly £1000 per month so production is pretty slow going right now. I have nobody backing the show to help it move forward. Only my own limited funds.

When I put up the casting call, I was completely upfront to all those who wanted to audition that I could not pay industry standards right now. I do make it clear to the cast and crew that if the show does well enough, industry standard payments are my top priority from any profits the show makes. At first it will be indie rates at £2 per line and building up from there, with all back pay paid for lines submitted too. Records of income and expenditure will be provided to them per year if I can’t meet this as of yet. Although some will be rough records to protect the cast's information. If we can ever get to this, the production costs will quadruple at least.

All recordings are done remotely as the cast are spread all over the world. I have taken on an audio engineer to try to balance these far better than I ever could.

This came to my mind out of nowhere one day. If we ever did conventions, they would be called Purgatoricons. The show would have to do very well though as I would have to pay to fly the cast out to them and pay them for their time and hotels too.

Very much so. This worries me the most, but I didn’t want a puppies kittens and rainbows sort of show. My mental issues would not allow me to create one of those anyway. If we have enough episodes uploaded to prove why these events happen, we will have evidence to cover ourselves, if not we may be taken down without being able to defend ourselves. There is a scene in season 1 episode 2 that seriously has me worried and I’m not sure whether to cut it down a little.

Officially, no. Without visuals, I would consider this to be either a 12 or 15 rated show, depending on episodes. There are no sexual scenes to be heard, but there is violence, strong language, themes that some viewers may find offensive or distressing, and talks of sexual acts both consensual and not. If the show had visuals it would be an 18+. Viewer discretion is highly advised.

I want this to be real people from our world, just in a different setting. Songs will be real songs that have been in the charts or have been released on CD. I want the show to be relatable. The opening titles are 2 minutes 32 seconds long for the prequel miniseries and season 1. This will have a licensed song that reflects the ‘previously on The Purgatorians’ segment. Scene changes and radio songs will also be licensed and on YouTube, not podcast platforms, there will be another licensed song over the end credits.

Yes, but I can’t speak too much of these to avoid major spoilers. I can say the audio drama was inspired by a soap opera we had in the UK called Brookside, which kept trying to push the boundaries of what you could show on TV at the time. The Overseers title was inspired by the overseer from Resident Evil Revelations 2, only the title, not the character. Some of the themes were also inspired by Game of Thrones, and the mystery aspect by Wayward Pines.

We aren’t looking for producers or anything like that, but we do have a buy me a coffee and a Patreon, please see the links section, and if enough want it we shall add a members only section here, and possibly a shop. The buy me a coffee covers all three channels so you need to state which channel you want donations to be used on, otherwise it will go straight into the audio drama. Donations are voluntary and we will never try forcing anybody to donate to any channel.

It all depends on the tiers. Although it says ad-free early access, I can’t guarantee ad-free unless we get monetized, so please keep that in mind.

• Tier 1 will get all the ad free early access shows and extras that come.

• Tier 2 will get the same as Tier 1 but with the director's commentary episodes and some other exclusive content and early access too.

• Tier 3 will get the same as above but with early access to the exclusive Patreon cast commentary videos before they go to tier 2, and other exclusive extras.

• Tier 4 will get the same as above but also get early access to the completely original shows before they trickle down to tier 3. We are looking into more exclusives for this to make it more worthy of the cost.

There are tiers about this but they are for digital downloads and physical CDs and DVDs of the show, but we need to get everything original in the audio drama to allow this. Tier 4 and above will go live once this happens.

Yes, you can. You can spread word of the show and encourage people to subscribe to our YouTube channel. The more people who know about it, the more people that may enjoy it. Speak of it on social media, create videos about it on YouTube, please be mindful of the licensed songs and music, and don’t upload more than 15 minutes of footage. If you want to react to it, tag me in the description so I can give it a watch. If you react to it, this allows me to use some clips in a reaction montage. It is best to reach out to me on Discord if you plan to do this.

I don’t believe creators should take down other creators' work. We all know how hard YouTube can be without all the infighting too. As long as there’s no more than 15 minutes of footage, try to get it around 12 to be safe, you are not trying to claim the show or any music from it as your own, link the original channel and music in the description to avoid this. You can find the music description in my descriptions but never use the license ID if there as that will be fraudulent. Lastly, there is no toxic behaviour associated with the video, no ‘isms or hate speech. If this rule is broken or you try to claim it as your own, you may get a takedown request as we don’t want to be associated with that kind of behaviour or fraudulent activity. If any other rules are broken, we will claim revenue. If rules are followed, you may still see a claim but that will be to collect analytics on the video, you should still be able to monetize it.
